Leaf removal in West Chicago
Wet leaves left on the lawn through winter can smother the grass underneath. Our crew blows them out of beds and off the turf, vacuums the piles into our truck and hauls everything away.

Fall leaf cleanup
Leaves down. Lawn back.
A thin layer of dry leaves will not hurt much. The trouble starts when fall rain and the first snow press them into a wet, matted layer. Grass under that mat gets little light or air, stays damp for months and comes out of winter thin, yellow or bare in patches. Clearing leaves before snow covers the yard is one of the simplest ways to protect next spring's lawn.
That damp, dark layer is also where snow mold and other fungal problems get a start, and it gives voles, mice and insects a sheltered place to spend the winter. Leaves piled against foundations and packed into beds hold moisture where you don't want it. Getting them off the property, not just raked to the back corner, is what actually solves the problem.
Our crew works with blowers, a truck-mounted leaf vacuum and a covered leaf box, so everything we gather goes in the truck and off your property. You can book a single cleanup once most trees are bare, or ask about coming back more than once while the leaves keep falling.
If the leaves are off the lawn before the snow, the grass has a real shot in spring.
Know the signs
Time to clear the leaves
The lawn is mostly covered
When you can't see grass through the leaves, the turf underneath is already losing light. Waiting for the last tree to drop usually means a heavier, wetter job later.
Leaves are wet and matting down
Rain packs leaves into a flat layer that sits on the grass like a tarp. Matted leaves are the ones most likely to leave dead patches by spring.
Beds and corners are packed
Wind drives leaves into planting beds, fence lines and the corners by the house. Those drifts hold moisture against plants and siding all winter.
Snow is in the forecast
Once snow covers the yard, whatever is on the lawn stays there until spring. A cleanup before the first real snowfall is the one that counts most.
Raking it yourself is too much
Big trees can drop more than a weekend of raking can handle, and bagging it all is another job. We bring the blowers and the vacuum truck so you don't have to.

- 02
Blow out beds and edges
The crew starts in the beds, along fences and around the house, moving leaves out onto the open lawn and taking care around plants and mulch.
- 03
Pile it on the lawn
Leaves are blown across the lawn into large piles close to where the truck can reach.
- 04
Vacuum into the truck
The hose on the truck-mounted vacuum pulls each pile into the covered leaf box, so the leaves stay contained on the way out.
- 05
Haul away and tidy
We haul the leaves away, blow off the hard surfaces and take a last look around before we go.

Neighbors say it best.
Do you take the leaves away?
Yes. Leaves are vacuumed into the covered box on our truck and leave with us. You won't be left with bags to deal with or a pile at the curb.
Can you do it before the first snow?
That's the goal for every leaf cleanup we book this time of year. Fall schedules get busy as the trees drop, so reach out early and we'll find a date that works. If snow comes early, we'll talk through your options.
Should I wait until every leaf has fallen?
Not necessarily. If the lawn is already covered, a cleanup now keeps the grass from sitting under a wet mat while you wait on the last trees. Ask us about a second visit later in the season for whatever comes down after.
Do I need to be home?
Usually not, as long as we can reach the yard and any gates are unlocked. We'll confirm access when we schedule.
Can you clean the gutters on the same visit?
Ask us about adding gutter cleaning when you book. The same trees that cover your lawn also fill your gutters, and clearing both before winter helps keep water moving away from the house.
Do you also cut back plants and prep the beds?
Leaf removal covers clearing leaves from beds, lawn and hard surfaces. If you also want perennials cut back and beds prepared for winter, take a look at our fall cleanup service, or ask us to combine the two.
